First EchoLaser Therapy treatments at “Radiology and MRI Clinical Center” in Belgrade

Today the first EchoLaser Therapy treatments were performed at the “Radiology and MRI Clinical Center” in Belgrade. “Very small atraumatic needles are placed in the tumor tissue and allow the treatment of the lesion using optical fibers positioned through the lumen of these needles. The laser light is then converted into heat, allowing the destruction of the tumor “- explains Prof. Dr. Dragan Mašulović, director of the Center for Radiology KCS. The procedure, which in some cases can be performed on an outpatient basis, allows the patient to avoid surgery by ensuring the expected clinical results in a single treatment.
