A prospective clinical study published in Scientific Reports highlights a growing patient preference for minimally invasive laser ablation over traditional surgical methods.
Led by Prof. Marcin Barczyński at the Thyroid Disease Treatment Center in Kraków, Poland, the study involved 204 patients with benign solitary thyroid nodules who were offered three treatment options: conventional surgery, TOETVA, or laser ablation (LA) using the EchoLaser system by Elesta.
Key results:
-
✅ 80% of patients opted for LA
-
📊 Technical success rate: 74.2%
-
📈 Clinical success rate: 90.2%
-
⚠️ Complication rate:
• LA: 1.8%
• TOETVA: 11.8%
• Open surgery: 8.7%
These findings confirm EchoLaser as a safe, effective, and patient-preferred treatment for benign thyroid nodules, offering excellent results with minimal risk.
We are proud of this recognition and thank Prof. Barczyński for this remarkable scientific contribution, and our distributor MEDEN for their partnership and ongoing support in Poland.
